Story
Growing up in the country of Pakistan, Moiz identified that sexual abuse and physical violence was a major issue within his community. As someone with an extensive background in martial arts competing at the national level in kickboxing, and international level in jiu-jitsu, Moiz wanted to use his background in martial-arts to make a difference, and this is where the idea of Ninja Girls came about.
In 2018, Moiz found his opportunity to implement Ninja Girls within and make a difference. He won the Global Impact Challenge, hosted by the Youth Assembly, and received seed funding, and mentorship to implement Ninja Girls. He was the youngest winner of the competition at 17 years of age, and received the award by Her Excellency, Ms Simona Mirela Miculescu representative of the UN secretary-general and head of the UN office in Belgrade.
Ninja Girls is a way for Moiz to use his passion of martial arts to help empower others, and he hopes that all women around the world have the skills and resources to be able to effectively defend themselves, speak out, and take action against sexual violence.
